A look at some of the most horrible examples of horse equipment on the market today.
Please remember, this blog is simply MY opinions. Everyone has some and like armpits, some stink! It is all subjective anyway. I am not telling anyone what to use at all. I am just making observations and stating my own likes and dislikes. If you do not agree, fine, you are entitled. THERE IS NO ONE RIGHT WAY.
Please, read and enjoy and try not to be ugly to others. Everyone has a right to their opinions.
Actually the second one isn't bad if you are into pink (which I am not), but I still like "classic" minimal bling tack and would not purchase it even if it was a color I liked.
Is that first one black and purple? Doesn't matter it is just way too much. Both would just overpower the horse's head. Might work if you were trying to hide something but I think a pretty head might just disappear into under all that leather and rhinestones.
Wowwee!! I'm gonna buy me that first bridle and the purple people eater from yesterday and just watch the eyes bleed as I ride by. Of course I'll need to put this tack on an especially orange chestnut to get the best color contrast to show off my BEE-U-TI-FULL tack!
I actually really like that breastcollar in the 2nd picture but I wouldn't get it in pink. But that bridle needs to go. I really dislike those big ol' things on a horse's head. Even if it was just plain leather in that shape I still wouldn't like it.
The second not so bad if your tring to hide a less then ideal head. I also like the breast collar just not in pink. The first one just does not appeal to me at all. ~C when&where will you be riding with this get-up so I know to avoid!
How terrible is it that I love the black one? I'm ready to toss my sedate dressage bridle and rock out...oh wait. Not loving the heavy lumps of leather down by the bit. Dang. Might look good on a hammer head though?
As long as your horse doesn't have a teacup muzzle like an Arab or some Morgans - or even some AQHAs - those buckaroo bridles can look neat. They don't look nearly as "clunky" as you'd think.
They are staring at me...the eyes, the eyes...Can't...look...away....Yes, Master, I will use neon colors mixed with pastels and multi-colored rhinestones on every glueable surface in the WP classes...yes, it should blind the judge so he cannot recognize my poor horsemanship skills...yes...yeeeeessssss....
Drillrider, I have a very soft spot for hammerheaded horses. I think you should go for it! Of course, I'm the one who (what is WRONG with me?) likes it! I can see how it might look good on a full muzzled horse like cattypex said...

ReplyDelete~ C: LOL---good plan for how to get noticed, but not in a "good" way.

First one might not look too bad on a big ol' drafter head.......but I don't think there's any help for the second one......
ReplyDeleteTake the circles off the second bridle, leave 2 of them as rosettes....
At least they aren't acid-washed......LOL....

ReplyDeletetheliteraryhorse: My husband rides a hammerhead mustang mare, do you think he'd go for it??
ReplyDeleteThe 'rosettes' on the headstall in the second one look like eyes. And they are freaking me out! They keep staring at me from the monitor.
ReplyDeletePlease make them stop.
They made conchos out of My Little Pony eyes!!!
