Bridling FAIL

A kind reader sent me these pictures, this poor horse deserves a sainthood for putting up with this crap. The noseband of this tie-down is nearly in his eyes and the browband of his bridle is at a rather rakish angle as well.

  2. Well at least she's wearing a helmet...... Sure to keep her brains in her head when the horse goes over backwards from the damn tie-down.

  3. Um... I'm not really sure what to say. O_o

You can tell the horse was thinking, "Please just shoot me," in the first photo.

  6. You would think that they might realize that something was amiss. You can look at any picture of a horse on the internet with a tie down and realize that this is not right. I am also very proad to say that I went to my local rodeo last night and did not see one barrel racer using a tie down and only one horse all night tht had one on.

  7. Not to mention that she *probably* had to punch extra holes in the thing to even get it to go there...

  9. doesn't having the noseband up so high defeat the purpose of the tie-down, anyway? it also looks extremely tight.

  10. how? if it was just a cavesson it wouldnt really do anything, bit the tie down?
lol this increases the failure level

  11. Candy's girl- it loks like she may have tied a know in it to get it 'adjusted' that high up.

It's amazing that none of her friends in the picture knew better either...

Sad, really. I hope nobody gets hurt. Including or maybe especially the horse.

  12. wow.. that is so ridiculous... She also is using a tie down without a breastcollar, which is really dangerous, because if the horse were to fall, it could get it's legs through the tie down.

  13. Wow. That horse is an absolute SAINT! I know a couple of horses that would have gone nuts over that screwed up tack change! Dangerous!

  14. also ....look at how high up the cinch is ..lol ( man thats one beat up sadde..I wonder if any of the leather straps on it are even safe? Im betting not) and.. I cant quite tell but ....is the poor horses forelock in braids or is it wadded up with thistles? it kinda looks like thistles to me!......its obvious that she has no idea what the hell she is doing and geeze.. I sure hope whoever found these pics.. told the person this is wrong and dangerous.. please tell me Someone did.. for the sake of the poor horse? lol really I didnt think anyone was this stupid.. to not know the cavson doesn't go under his eyes. The stupidity of people still continues to amaze me...

  15. Even as a little girl having never been around real horses, I knew that the noseband goes near the nose, not basicly in the horse's eyes...

I've never used a tie-down before, but I've seen pics and people using them, and it seems to me that it's supposed to be used with a breast collar... Their way looks like it would be way too easy for the horse to get a foreleg caught if it reared up and/or thrashed around.

  16. Definitely odd and uncomfortable looking. Makes you wonder if they ever actually saw another horse bridled before.

  17. I love how they're all like, "YAAAY HORSES YAAY WE LOVE HORSES!" ..and yet NONE of them knows enough to thing that something isn't quite right with that bridle-job. lol!

  18. The poor horse really doesn't look very thrilled does he?

Do you think they feed it grass clippings? Is this on an In Memoriam page?

Maybe, just MAYBE, it's their first day with their new horsie, and they've somehow gotten some instruction by now.

Forchrissakes..... the internets are HUGE!!!! With pictures, even.

Like Becky, does anyone know if these enthusiastic girls have gotten some help?

  20. the horse is saying help me please.

  21. In that first photo, I imagined the horse thinking "just shoot me". Those girls probably can't ride well enough to go faster than a jog so it's not so bad for the horse. But what a good sport!
