A look at some of the most horrible examples of horse equipment on the market today.
Please remember, this blog is simply MY opinions. Everyone has some and like armpits, some stink! It is all subjective anyway. I am not telling anyone what to use at all. I am just making observations and stating my own likes and dislikes. If you do not agree, fine, you are entitled. THERE IS NO ONE RIGHT WAY.
Please, read and enjoy and try not to be ugly to others. Everyone has a right to their opinions.

Try to figure this one out...
Advertised as a rare white English show saddle. Ummm, I am not terribly sure that that is an accurate description. Any ideas? Other than WTF?
Huh...strange looking for sure...like looking at an albino or something. I was watching a you-tube video of the Spanish Riding School of Vienna and they all seem to be riding in white saddles or saddles with white covers...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RzdwAhwgBI
Hmm that's quite different. It looks foreign though, by the way its made. not something peole would use in the U.S. I think a white saddle would look pretty on a black horse though, they make white tack for frisians, I've just never seen a white saddle.
It would look pretty on a dark horse but I think of it like I think of white shoes. I absolutely love them for the 1st week...then they're not so white anymore. It would be a pain in the butt to keep clean.
So when are all of us moving our stuff into the new apartment? You didn't think you were moving in by yourself were you? Ha...don't be silly. lol :)

Well, I am moving on the 19th. Come one, come all, plenty of room! LOL, just remember, I am a boss mare!
Hooboy, it's ugly *and* horrendously impractical...if it's cheaply made, we may have hit the trifecta!
So, *so* glad to hear that your new apartment is lovely and so close to where you work. I'll be keeping you and yours in my thoughts. Seems to me that traumatic events in life are kind of like riding through a really bad spook in the middle of a tricky jump course...you just sit real deep, keep your head up and your back nice and straight, and take it one stride at a time.
The Shriners used to use all white tack for their Equestrian group. But I don't think I ever saw them use a saddle like this. Maybe it's a movie prop? Or left over from Shadowfax's wardrobe from Lord Of the Rings?
Yes, the Spanish School uses "white" saddles. They aren't this kind of yucky white cardboard leather, it's chrome tanned deerskin, IIRC. Vegtable tanning produces the vaguely 'skin' colored leather, chrome tanning makes the leather whiteish. I have two sheep hides on my work bench, one white-ish, one cream, same animal, different end result.
I doubt that the horses used in LOTR were subjected to anything like this saddle.
ooh wow, why does it has to be so.. what-the-hell built? I´m currently looking for a normal made whit saddle. Would be perfect on my black stallion with white bridle and blue numnah and my blue competition clothing. Yeah guys, endurance rider here, and i want my tack (and one of the horses) to be national flag colors :)
Isn't that the Hermes Christmas saddle? You know the one..NO ONE EVER BUYS??? Hmmm...Since my horsey friend just compared me to PigPen of the Peanuts..I think I'll pass
Rare for a REASON! ICK!

ReplyDeleteI can barely see the details of the saddle because Im blinded by the white!

ReplyDeletei would assume it was intended for videos like the one above, a white saddle would be to impractical for anything else. :-)

ReplyDeleteI'm all for "one of a kind" on that beauty :P
ReplyDeleteYou could not pay me enough to use white tack.

You can do it! We're all rooting for you!
I love how people automatically assume "rare" also means "desirable." Yeah... notsomuch.
ReplyDeleteThat would be filthy in .2 seconds.
ReplyDeleteIt's very Logan's Run....
ReplyDelete..... or Austin Powers.
"Do you like your quasi-futuristic saddle, Mister Horse?"
Bring on the Fembots!!!!!
This MUST have been made to suit some purpose... but WHAT? And why on earth is the pommel so high? Where did this come from?

ReplyDeleteLooks like a stiff peice of junk to me.

ReplyDeleteIt's a saddle meant for Stormtroopers. Whenever they need to chase those fast Jedi on horseback.
