A look at some of the most horrible examples of horse equipment on the market today.
Please remember, this blog is simply MY opinions. Everyone has some and like armpits, some stink! It is all subjective anyway. I am not telling anyone what to use at all. I am just making observations and stating my own likes and dislikes. If you do not agree, fine, you are entitled. THERE IS NO ONE RIGHT WAY.
Please, read and enjoy and try not to be ugly to others. Everyone has a right to their opinions.

Scary Pink Accessories of the Week
Here are some lovely items to help dress up your pink ensemble. Something here for everyone!
The fly bonnet would be adorable on some little girls pony, although it does remind me of a dresser runner my aunt made a loooong time ago. The halter...yuck, I hate those ugly things.
Hehe heyyyyy don't dis the bronc halters! I have one - black with leather accents, and the nose leather has the auroa borealis crystals with a barrel racer stamped into the leather and my horse's name... the thing is he is a standardbred with a HUGE head so it works for him :) put the same halter on my yearling... OMG her face disappears.
What's with the pink bridles? I can... sort of... understand the other stuff, but that bridle looks about ten dollars. And the whole black underneath, what ARE these people thinking?
I would actually use the pink english bridle for trail riding, and maybe even the breast collar...
But of course I am super cruel to my horse and have one of those pink fly nets but it's much nicer looking as well as a pink saddle pad, pink smb boots front and back and pink bell boots.
Actually this just reminded me of a funny story... I had a horse named Johnny Be Good... chronic bucker he was... anywho... he HATED hot pink.. it scared him. I put hot pink brand spankin' new Sports Medicine Boots on him, I was lunging him, asked him to lope, he took one look at his feet (well tried to) while loping, spooking at the colour and fell head over heels...
Few weeks later I rode him in the arena. I leave halters on my greenies under their bridles... didn't even think having a hot pink halter on would do anything, we jogged by the viewing room window, he caught one glimpse of himself, took off bucking he did! Concussed me one real good when I kissed the dirt.
On the OTHER end of the spectrum, I had a horse named Top Bar Bart and he LOVED hot pink. He actually grabbed my miniature horse Pixie and dragged her around trying to pull her halter off. It was hot pink. He would undo horse's halters if they were pink and didn't like being caught unless you had a pink halter with you.
If you go through my blog www.banagade.blogspot.com you'll see what I do to the standardbred for shows... lol SPARKLES!
Can I just mention how much I can't stand those wide nose halters? While some think they just look so great, I just ask how bad your horse behaves that you need something like that to control them? And pink. Yak, Hork, Snarf, Blech, *collapses from the effort of loosing my lunch*
Cut-N-Jump Wouldn't it do the opposite? To me that looks like if the horse even thought about acting up it could get away with murder since the horse would have so much to lean on.
That pink bronc halter is by far the worse thing I think I've ever seen. I think the fact that it's not all leather like a real bronc halter is what gets me. Which I guess pink leather would be worse...
Not only do I LOOOOVVVEEEE the pink plaid fly hat, I DEMAND to know who sells it!! (tho, it would be just as nice w/solid pink ears and no plaid)
MUST HAVE FLY HAT!
I have a *tiny* obsession with fly hats and that would look fantastic on my dark bay TB. I'm desparate for a hat with a Texas flag on it or a smallish embroidered TX flag to sew onto a plain hat, for Dallas the Wonder Ayrab.
I to want to know where to get the ear net. I have a gelding, yes a gelding that the joke is if he doesn't be good he gets dressed in pink. I haven't yet but I do want to put something totally crazy and pink on him for some photos. That ear net would be the thing.
Do people actually use those halters? I've seen some at tack stores, and I don't understand the fascination. Even in normal colors, they're hideous.
ReplyDeleteThe bonnet looks like something my cousin would put on her chihuahua... but not a horse. These make me sick.
ReplyDeleteLOL.....I like that pink plaid ear thingy.....LOL....
ReplyDeleteI would use it.....hehehehe

ReplyDeletePink on a horse does not belong!! Makes me think of that tart Jordan that is trying to be a horse woman in all her pink crap. Yuck!
ReplyDeleteThis saddle just got posted on a message board I'm on. It's pretty scary (but apparently the OP's kids think it's GORGEOUS).

Analise: That is majorly hideous! I could see how a little girl who loves pink would think it was awesome. Personally, ICK!
ReplyDeleteAs for today's post, what is up with the little horse head on the fly bonnet? Adds to the already outrageous "cheesiness".

I would use the fly veil. Guilty D:
ReplyDeleteBut...the rest of that stuff is rancid. Who the hell would use that halter? O.o
I kind of like bronc halters on some horses, but not THAT one!!!
ReplyDeleteMy horse has a big blaze that makes his head look HUUUUGE already, though it's just normal size.
A Bronc Halter would make him look like one of those 19th century jugheaded foundation sires.....
You know. Fly masks are one of the things you *can* get in pink...
ReplyDelete...but...
...plaid...
