A look at some of the most horrible examples of horse equipment on the market today.
Please remember, this blog is simply MY opinions. Everyone has some and like armpits, some stink! It is all subjective anyway. I am not telling anyone what to use at all. I am just making observations and stating my own likes and dislikes. If you do not agree, fine, you are entitled. THERE IS NO ONE RIGHT WAY.
Please, read and enjoy and try not to be ugly to others. Everyone has a right to their opinions.

Oh. My. Gosh.
This is perhaps one of the most truly hideous things I have ever laid eyes on. Truly.
It actually leavs me feeling mildly ill, and with a bad taste in my mouth. ICK
Yes Jenifer, that would be a hole. Western saddles have them as a way of carrying them. You can grab them with one hand and carry it off pretty easily. Also useful in swinging the saddle up onto the horses back. You can put the pad up there with the left hand and swing the saddle up with your right.
This thing though, is just craptastic looking. Since it is green can it be recycled into something better? Not liking it much at all. Can anyone tell?
Those colored saddles the other day were at least obviously well-made, but this thing looks cobbled together out of spare parts.
The hole behind the horn can also be a handy place to loop a lungeline through so you can hang the saddle from the rafters for cleaning.... I suppose it originally evolved as ventilation, or a place for withers, or....?
Something about the way it's put together doesn't look right either and I don't know a lot about western saddles - the fenders seem too far back or something?
You should do a photo contest---Which saddle/outfit is the most disgusting/worst taste/most poorly made? What would be worse, I think, would be to go to a show or gaming day and actually see these things on a horse!!
All it needs is a license plate and hydraulic shocks. Low rider saddle. Hey, if you put it on a horse with a rearing problem, you can forget the shocks!
What is the swirly, hooky looking thingy on the fender? Argh....Captain Hook saddle?
ReplyDeleteMy how... green.
ReplyDeleteIs that a hole behind the horn?
ReplyDeleteMy daughater would love the green seat, but what are those hideous green fenders LOL
ReplyDeleteBarf!
ReplyDeleteHow gross is that? I just don't understand the people that go "yeah, THAT'LL look good" when designing this junk!

**While Scrolling Down** Aww that's a cute little saddle.
ReplyDeleteMy those conchos are huge...but I guess it's just a pony saddle with regular-sided conchos.
What the?
Eww. Just eww.
On my computer the skirt looks pinkish so when I saw it I thought of a watermelon!! LOL
ReplyDeleteI count FIVE different colors of leather.

Hideous or gross? I can't decide

Stuff of nightmares ........... blah!
Yeah, now I think about it...I think the color contrast just made it stick out more than normal.

Such a lovely horse tack, it looks like a western horse tack. Color contrast of tack is awesome.
