Or not. These things look like they would fall the hell apart the first time you rode them. And how, pray tell, are you supposed to get ON them without a tall mounting block? They look like they would just spin round and round the horse. It's a glorified bareback pad. I don't like the look of them at all, they just seem so, fall apart, like they are held together with Velcro. Oh wait, they usually are.
I have an old Bob Marshall treeless which stays in place pretty darn well. But it was well made. The only other treeless experience I've had, I never even got into the saddle. I borrowed one from a friend, an expensive one that was beautifully made, and it did not fit any of my horses at all. The way it was made it could not possibly fit any of my Morgans or my TWH as it rode way up on their shoulders & was really heavy under the pommel. I was amazed.
ReplyDeleteLike any saddle, there are quality treeless & junk treeless.
But they carved the leather and everything... ...
ReplyDeleteI love my treeless and so do my horses <3 http://www.blackforestsaddles.com/
ReplyDeleteEww, that has got to be the ugliest cantle I've ever seen!

ReplyDeleteI've ridden treeless for years and I love it. You can feel every move the horse makes and it's a lot easier for the horse to feel your cues.
ReplyDeleteBwahahahahaha! The one with the cantle pouch reminds me of the big touring model motorcycles. Starter saddle for the more eco-conscious motorcycle rider? Built in zipper pouch!
ReplyDeleteThose just don't look right.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing wrong with treeless saddles. I rode treeless for several months after not finding any treed saddles that fit my girl. However, you must stick with well known brands like barefoot and black forest.
