You know, hybrids can be really neat. Look at mules, super smart, tough, and strong. Hybrid vehicles are great too. Hybrid saddles however, are sometimes very funky looking.
Take this for example...
It is an English saddle, with a horn. Why? I have no idea. It makes no sense to me. It actually looks more like a 3 way hybridization of an English saddle, a Western and an Aussie. Strange.
I am trying to understand the thinking behind this...but i can't make any sense of it!
ReplyDeletelol...it's for those ppl who don't want to ride western or aussie, and STILL want something to cling on to for dear life when the horse acts up...hmmm...maybe I should get it for my 4yo??? LOL course by the looks, that thing would put me in such a horrible chair seat, I'd be so off balance, no wonder I'd need a horn to cling to :)
ReplyDelete?????? One day I was out riding in my English saddle and the neighbor's cow was loose and I had to round it up. Maybe its for that ???? /lame attempt at humor
ReplyDeleteits a place to hang you water bottle!!!
ReplyDeleteLook - It's a "Wenglissie"! Or is it an "Ausengwest" or a "Engauswest"? Whatever it is, I sure don't want it!
ReplyDeleteThe horn looks like an afterthought. Just perched up there. Makes no sense
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell - I have never seen anything so bizarre!
ReplyDeletehehehe... Wenglissie!
ReplyDeleteBy all the little hoops on the back, I'd say it is for trail riders. The little hoops are to hang stuff on. But that big honking horn is...just...weird looking.
ReplyDeleteDoes it come in pink?

IT LOOKS LIKE A UNICORN SADDLE!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI just not sure what to say...
ReplyDeleteTHAT IS WRONGER THAN WRONG!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMore wrong than the law should allow.
Sorrier than a soup sandwich.
Wrongy McWrongWrong.
'nuff said.
(Did someone at the factory just smuggle home a bunch of leftover parts? Like in that JOhnny Cash song where he builds himself a car?)
(and it's why you shouldn't be storing saddles on top of each other in the tack room!! Looks like someone had a 3-way in the trailer!!)
ReplyDeletecp, OMG, you CRACK ME UP! The three-way comment was awesome! "Uh what year is it?" "Well it's a '64 '65 '66 '67...."
ReplyDeleteThat saddle in pink camo would ROCK. Me. Off the back of my horse because it has quite possibly the worst chair seat I've ever seen. Three letters: W T F.
I'm going to agree with the previous comment: I would ride a unicorn in that. Nothing else.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I'm not even a guy and I'm already experiencing pain in the crotch area from just looking at that picture. Imagine accidentally sitting up to post and getting that sucker in the toolbox. OUCH!
ReplyDeleteIt almost looks like a Photoshop job... the skirting and knee rolls from a Wintec, the seat from one of those synthetic endurance saddles, and the horn from God knows where.
I agree... them saddles have been up to no good in the trailer. :)
WOW. You know, I see these fairly often, which is sad in and of its self. These saddles are really the epitomy of WTF?
ReplyDeleteMy mom rides in something like this, and I can't figure out why. She uses it for trail riding. I think it's super ugly, though slightly less offensive that the one you posted. Mom and her mare both seem to like it... Whatever!
