Once again it is time for the Scary Pink Saddle of the Week! Today we have an Abetta synthetic western saddle in a trendy pink "Ghetto-Flauge" pattern. Wow, this thing is beyond unattractive. Nothing screams "redneck fabulous" like pink camo. All it needs now are some pink rhinestones to "bling it up" (gah, I hate that term) some. And to think, Abetta is one of the higher quality synthetics on the market. Don't see Wintec making stuff like this now do we?
Just WHERE do people find these things????? I'll admit I saw a pink saddle in my old feedstore - ONCE. It was subtle compared to this monster.
ReplyDeletelol...eewwww wtf
ReplyDeletescaeq: you need a better alias on the Conn winner list.
ReplyDeletehint, hint.
REALLY!?
ReplyDeleteSQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
ReplyDeleteJust gross.
ReplyDeletemwaha! I can't add anything better to this than 'ghetto flauge!
ReplyDeleteMee too, finally. Good thing it's one I really wanted! So close to BF tho...
ReplyDeleteYeah, and I have to finish paying for the porcelain shire from BF that I have reserved. Yay, clinkies!
ReplyDeleteFireantranch - I saw this on Ebay.
ReplyDeleteSCA, I couldn't believe this was Abetta, either. And it comes in a 17", so, some grownup or really large child can get one!
They only make them because they know people will buy them. And they KEEP making them because aparently they sell pretty good. I have a feeling this is sold to the people that just decide to get a horse but know nothing about the care.
ReplyDeleteI must admit I do like Abetta saddles because they look comfy and they're cheap (and come in a high-back model). But I'll stick to black thanks. I've seen a zebra print one and I liked it though. *blush*
what more can we say about pink tack -ugggggleeee
ReplyDeleteOoh. I didn't know you lot got Wintec's! I have to say I love ours! Apart from the Pony Club saddle I have for my mare, the Wintec 2000 we have for my mums old boy is the most comfotable saddle I've ever rode in.
ReplyDeleteAs for the scary pink saddle... It scares me.
Geeze! It's missing a cross or two and a matching rifle scabbard. Gotta have yer rifle along to shoot them deer, coons and other non fearocious game ya might jest startle out on the trail...
ReplyDeleteEverything 'ghetto-flauge' seems to be the rage anymore. No matter the color(s), quality, placement or product.
I seem to remember my western saddle having a 15" seat, which was considered kind of standard in the 80s.
ReplyDeleteDo people sit differently (further back) these days, or have our asses all expanded that much??
cattypex, I don't know about everyone else's ass, but mine has expanded considerably. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI abslutely hate how I look in my 15" cheyenne roll Abetta because my ass overlaps the back even though I feel I'm sitting right. I have a bid in on a 16". Wish it had a pencil roll. Glad it doesn't have "'flauge" of any kind.
Whoa. Barbie is getting a little tough in her old age. Barbie-pink getto camo? Yo. Barbs. Whazzup...?
ReplyDeleteHard to imagine. :)
Speaking of bling -- TackWholesale.com is running an email campaign with the slogan "More bling for your bucks." Every time I get one of those emails I think of you and this blog. I guess they must have a lot of bling-lovers, to run ad campaigns like that!
ReplyDeleteYou know, is it me, or has Abetta gone downhill as far as quality? I mean, their saddles just keep looking cheaper and cheaper to me. Maybe it's just me, though.
ReplyDeleteRedneck fabulous! yeah! And it's even in my favourite colour!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea, in theory, but in real life... not so much. But if you don't mind I'd like to borrow "redneck fabulous!"
