A look at some of the most horrible examples of horse equipment on the market today.
Please remember, this blog is simply MY opinions. Everyone has some and like armpits, some stink! It is all subjective anyway. I am not telling anyone what to use at all. I am just making observations and stating my own likes and dislikes. If you do not agree, fine, you are entitled. THERE IS NO ONE RIGHT WAY.
Please, read and enjoy and try not to be ugly to others. Everyone has a right to their opinions.

Speak for themselves..
You know, sometimes there are just things that need no explanation from me. Sometimes they speak (YELL) loudly enough for themselves.
I was distracted after clicking on the Tacky Tack of the Day link. I turned back to my screen and thought where the heck did I land? Halloween costumes? What happened to TTotD? WHOA....wait a sec, is that a SADDLE pad?????
That's saying something, when you don't even recognize it as tack!
You know I have watched the lady who makes these on ebay for years. These are some of the brightest I have seen and it should be mentioned that she states on every single ebay ad that the fringe is optional.
They are actually really nice quality blankets made with a fleece underlining quilted together, machine washable. Many of her designs are not for me, but she does have many that I do like that are not as bright. They are designed to be for western saddles, and I think a blanket designed to match a riders attire, say in blues or red for example, whould look very nice.
If you actually want to see how they look on a horse under a saddle look under seller: kwrage on ebay. Suprisingly even the fringe does not look nearly so bad uner a saddle on a horse.
The fringe is not personnely my cup of tea but thought it was worth sharing. The green blanket without fringe posted is actually nice still a bit bright for me but not too bad.

I love the colours of the top one **ducks for cover** although probably only for a special occasion and fringes don't generally do it for me but I can appreciate the amount of work that's gone into making one.
Not for everyday riding but I'm sure they're not intended for everyday riding.
Not as bad as some of the things I've seen on here (once eyes have adjusted!!) lol
I've followed her on ebay for a while now. She's got great work and does custom ones as well. A few are quite out there (fringe, glitters, sparkles, holographic fabric) but she does have some that are a flat color with just silver sparkles in the corners which would be perfect for showing. I've been drooling over getting one done by her as well but it doesn't come cheap.
WOW---those are some BRIGHT saddle pads!
ReplyDeleteGaudy as hell! Yuck!
ReplyDeleteGasp! Oh no. Oh no. Save the horses!
ReplyDeleteI had to look at them twice to work out that they were, yes, saddle pads.
ReplyDeleteMy mind wanted to deny it.

PLEASE let those be for a drill team.
ReplyDeletePLEASE.
Wow. Just Wow. Hope I won't ever see one in person. I doubt my eyes could take it.
ReplyDeleteI am sort-of-but-not-really embarrassed at how many of these photos I'm saving to do in model horse scale one day.
ReplyDeleteIt's the 70's all over again but electrified!
ReplyDeleteKD: Reminds me of the silky shirts in the disco era that guys would leave open to their navels while wearing gold chains! Not attactive then either!

I don't do fringe.
ReplyDeleteI do, however, do sparkle......and kwrage has already done 3 crystal pads for me and is working on 2 more.....LOL....
Her custom work is exemplary....and as soon as I figure out exactly what I am doing, she will be sparkling up a couple english pads for me!!!
The world needs more sparkle!!!
Worry not, Erin, you are NOT alone.
ReplyDeleteMaybe saddle #100 should be a "flag" polo saddle.... ( I *was* thinking more like a "normal Ioldy.)

Dancing with the Stars... on Horseback!
ReplyDeleteThey DO look to be high quality, and aren't so bad on a kid's pony.
ReplyDeleteOr I guess for contesters, who are usually a little.... FESTIVE.... in their tastes anyway.
It's just too gaudy for my taste.
Me, with the purplish hair and shoes with Raphael's angels on 'em today. :P

ReplyDeletethey look like something a dance squad are more likely to wear than a horse.
