Oh, my, really? Why do people feel the need to create things like this? It looks like a My Little Pony saddle. I can only speculate that the color patches in front of the saddle are other available color choices in case you want to make it even more obnoxious.

Fake Snake

The tackiness knows no bounds. A reader sent me this saddle with its super tacky fake snakeskin seat. I have seen ostrich, stingray, hair on hide, crocodile, woven wool, suede, and smooth leather, but this is the first fake snake seat I have seen, and in red too. With heart cutouts. Cause everyone knows heart shapes and snakeskin are a great compliment to one another.

Time for some Nair. Seriously.

You might recall the first time I posted mohair accented tack. Well, someone found some new stuff. This looks even more unsettlingly like pubes than the first versions. Now, where is my razor?

Floral Fiasco

This thing looks like a freaking easter egg. Hideous, truly hideous. I can't stand the painted flowers, it makes it look cheap and this is NOT a cheap saddle. It sold new for like, $2000.

Got The Blues

Just, wow. When I saw this I just cringed, and stared, and cringed, and stared. It's like a train wreck, I just cant stop looking at it, and being horrified.

Need More Tack!

Folks, I am running out of material! Time for yall to go Tack hunting again! Send me hideousness of all colors, cheaply made stuff, sparklies, flowery, fluffy, pink, purple, you name it! Also cruel and inhumane examples of tack. I need more material as I have either run through all of mine, or it is very similar to previous posts. Guest Blog: The SRF Reviews Her Renegades.

Today we have a guest blog reviewing the Renegade horse boots that I purchased awhile back. It is "straight from the horse's mouth" so to speak, as the Silly Red Filly will be doing the review.

Greetings human readers, my name is Fatima, otherwise known as the SRF. Back in March my human moved me closer to her in a place called Arkansas. Now, I am originally from Louisiana, and delicate southern flower that I am, I did not know what to make of all those large, hard things sticking up out of the ground here. My human explained that they were "rocks" and that I would get used to them. We don't have big ones like that in Louisiana, and my hooves were getting all chipped up and ugly (the very idea!) and my human became concerned that I would hurt them and become lame. I do not wear metal shoes as my human prefers to keep us horses barefoot. So, she went in search of hoof boots for me so the rocks would not hurt me or chip up my pretty feet any more when we went riding. She asked lots of questions and did a lot of research on hoof boots of all kinds and finally settled on Renegades. She ordered me 4 of them and we waited patiently for them to arrive. It took me a little while to get used to having them put on my feet, but now I pick my feet up right away and can't wait for her to get them on me! That means we are going RIDING!! I like that I can go anywhere with them, the grippy tread helps me keep my footing, and they protect the entire bottom of my hoof from the sharp rocks on the ridges where we ride. My human says I bound along the steep, rocky trails like a mountain goat. She keeps telling me to slow down, I listen, but I don't like it! I like to GO! The boots have withstood a lot of wear and tear so far and are only now beginning to show heavy use. You have to understand, where we ride is VERY rocky, parts of it are an old quarry and it is literally bare rock and shale. We have crossed creeks (which I do NOT like at all), gone through mud (YUCK), and galloped through pastures and the boots have stayed on without any problems. My human says they are super easy to put on, but then again, she has thumbs, of course it's easy for her! LOL

All in all, we both highly recommend the Renegade brand hoof boots, they are tough, easy to use, and very well designed. My human says they are expensive, but worth the money.

Oh. My. Gosh.

This is perhaps one of the most truly hideous things I have ever laid eyes on. Truly.



It actually leavs me feeling mildly ill, and with a bad taste in my mouth. ICK

Please put on protective eyewear, this thing is BRIGHT. I have no idea what company manufactured this thing or why, but OMG it is scary. It was on an ebay auction, and actually had bids. Thanks to the reader who sent me this. I appreciate it (I think).

Like a train wreck...

I just can't stop staring. Fascinated and horrified all at the same time. They are very well made though, I will say that. But, oh my, they are colorful.

More Model Tack!

I found this leopard print model horse saddle set online and asked the owner's permission to post here. She did not recall the tack maker's name unfortunately, so if anyone knows, please post it.






I have no idea where they found the teeny leopard print but I LOVE it! If I still showed performance, I would SO be all over this!

Model Tacky

A reader who also makes model horse tack sent me a pic of one of her recent creations. I got permission to post it here for you guys to enjoy. I also would like her to post her website (if she has one) and name, as I saved the pic then promptly deleted the email (duh). It is incredible work and super detailed. In my opinion it is MUCH better than the things that get posted to this blog. At least all the shades of purple match and the tack is well made!
