It hurts the eyes...

...and kind of gives me a headache. If they had stuck with purple and black or purple and tan it might not be so painful. Maybe. It almost looks like the bottom skirt is synthetic, but I can't tell.

Too Much

You know, I would like this if it weren't for the black horn, the black bit on the fenders, and the oversized, black underskirt. If it were a normal size and has just the black edging on it, it would not be bad at all. As is, the black alligator it a bit overdone.

Ah, that's better...
Still don't care for the oversized skirt, but I like this quite a bit as far as silver-encrusted show saddles go. I would prefer to see a bit darker oil saddle, but not bad overall.

Vintage Tack

Wow, this is, um, different. It looks alien, like it came from some weird old west themed sci-fi movie. Ick. Nice buckstitching by the way.

Flower Power

Cheap, piece of junk, fugly, cardboard leather saddles from India. Now in FLORAL TOOLING.

Groovy huh?

Scary Pink Saddle of the Week

Once again, it is time for your weekly dose of Pepto. Today we have an English one, this time in a lovely hot pink with a black seat and black piping all around. Blech

See, not all Tacky Tack is Western. The site said it is a synthetic, so at least it isn't crappy cardboard leather dyed with Pepto Bismol. Still, yuck.

Love it or hate it?

This is one of those saddles that I cannot decide whether I love it or hate it. I usually don't care for two toned saddles like this, but this one is oddly appealing. I like the contrast of the light leather with the black trim. I think I would like it more if the leather were a bit darker, perhaps a dark oxblood color. I think the spots are just silver studs, not rhinestones (if they are I retract my previous statement and hate it), and there is just enough silver to make it pop. It also looks fairly well made.

Now, this next one I truly hate. Not only is it an odd conglomeration of different colored leather, but you can tell that it is a cheap piece of crap. All of the skirts are curling and it is brand new, the whole thing just looks poorly made. Why would you make the lower skirts black and the seat dark brown? It looks like they just had some leftover parts that they threw together to make a saddle.

Tacky Triple Play

Today I have a triple play of hideous for you. The first one is not too horrible, being in acceptable earth tones. While I don't personally care for it, I am not offended by it. For a trail saddle, this would be fine. I am assuming that it is all synthetic, it is really difficult to tell.

This version however, is far less tolerable. It is a pale turquoise blue and black. I really don't care for it at all.

Lastly, we have something that looks like a prop from a Victoria's Secret photo shoot. Screaming pink and black, you can hear this one from miles away.

Return of the Two-Tone

Another two-toned saddle for you! Sadly, I almost kinda like this one. It sort of reminds me of Henna artwork. If the whole thing was leather, it didn't have the beige edging, and the seat were darker, I might would be interested.

Two Tone

Here is an, ummm, interesting couple of saddles. I can't decide whether I like the first one or hate it. I am certainly impressed by the workmanship. I KNOW I hate the second one. Blech.

Pictures are worth a thousand words.

I can't find words to describe this, so I will let the photos do the talking. All I can say is it is a very expensive, custom made Ansur Classic saddle with hair-on dyed cowhide. They want $1800, they claim it has never been used. I was so traumatized after seeing this, I had to get off of the Internet.

Brace yourselves...
