Star Struck

This one wouldn't be TOO bad were it not for the stars on the fenders. The stirrups also look WAY too far back to be comfortable.

Twinkle Twinkle

Green stars. Hmm, not TOO bad in comparison to some of the things we have seen. I just find the color combination of the leather and the painted accents and stars somewhat unsavory. If the painted areas were black, it would look sharp. As is, it is just a bit much.

Could be worse though. Observe...

Red, White and Bleh

I have nothing against being patriotic, but this thing is just fugly.

Flagged

Here are two saddles I found in links sent by readers. The first is fairly obnoxious, but not in nearly as poor taste as the second. Honestly folks, while the saddle itself is not TOO offensive overall, the motif is, shall we say, not very socially acceptable. I am from the South, and it makes me mildly uncomfortable.

More Patriotic Tacky Tack

Am I the only one who thinks it's kind of disrespectful to make such hideous tack using our flag
as inspiration?

The white patches instead of silver plates just make the outfit don't they?

In honor of the upcoming holiday...

Saddles to show your patriotism...

Tack to show your support of our Armed Forces...

And now, some painkillers for the monster headache looking at all this Tack has given you!!

Starstruck

Glitz and glamour, that's what we associate stars with. In scouring the Internet and looking over submissions by readers, I have come up with a few star-studded saddles for you.

This is an interesting saddle. I can't decide if it is OK or if I really hate it. I don't much care for the dark border or the pointy skirts.

This is another not too offensive one. Though I am not sure I like the reddish brown seat color with the blue.

Wow, this is, um, special. Are those silver lame' stars? Yikes.

Here is yet another of the faux-ostrich saddles. If it only had one star on the skirt, like the bridle and breastcollar, it might be less offensive. And the stars are asymmetrical, which REALLY bugs me.

Wow, is this not a craptastic saddle? It looks like a cheapo subthetic. Check out the wrinkles on the cantle. Love the shiny plasticy looking stars and star conchos too. Yuck.

Holy patriotic saddles Batman!

A reader sent me a link to this saddle this morning. The price for it is nearly $6000. Yes, I said $6000. I actually jumped back from the computer screen when I saw it. I also let loose a string of expletives. It actually STARTLED me. I really don't know what to think of it. I am all for showing your love for your homeland, but perhaps it should be, I don't know, not under your BUTT?

Brace yourselves, proper eye protection highly recommended.
