A look at some of the most horrible examples of horse equipment on the market today. Please remember, this blog is simply MY opinions. Everyone has some and like armpits, some stink! It is all subjective anyway. I am not telling anyone what to use at all. I am just making observations and stating my own likes and dislikes. If you do not agree, fine, you are entitled. THERE IS NO ONE RIGHT WAY. Please, read and enjoy and try not to be ugly to others. Everyone has a right to their opinions.
Interesting blue tooling but, yeesh wtf. Not on a saddle.
ReplyDeleteI like the seat, the breastcollar, and the headstall ain't to bad. The blue tooling is just too much. As for all the rhinestones OMG what were these people thinking.
ReplyDeleteOh God, I like it. What's wrong with me?
ReplyDeleteI must need to get more sleep.
If it were dark blue and didn't have the rhinestones it wouldn't be half bad. It looks like o.k. quality work other than the gawdyness.
ReplyDeleteomgosh! I kinda like it too! I shouldn't... but i do! Not sure i would ride out in public, but maybe just at my ranch. ;)
ReplyDeleteI like it...
ReplyDeleteIf it wouldn't have the blue tooling all over it, I'd rock that saddle.
ReplyDeleteAnd I just don't understand the thing of matching felt on the inside of the stirrups. It's going to get covered in dirt and mud anyway. Give me plain leather/aluminum stirrups!
Blue is far and away my favorite color, so that preference is currently warring with my abhorence of gaudiness. If it were toned down a bunch I think I could do it. Maybe if the tooling wasn't blue too? It doesn't really match the seat, anyway.
ReplyDeleteWell, I kinda like the color, and it looks well made. I can't poo-poo it to readily.
ReplyDeleteIt would have hope if the blue was a different shade that matched the rest of the saddle better. Too much blue tooling also.

I like it.....and I'd use it!!!!
ReplyDeleteIf your saddle pad EXACTLY matches the tooling, that would be quite eye-catching!!!!
I agree with most of the posts--I also like this saddle. It's just tacky enough that someone like me could get away with it. I usually don't like tooling, but I LOVE tooling that's painted! Wrong, I know, but I can't look away....
ReplyDeleteAlthough, the more I look at it, the more it looks like a saddle that someone bought then covered the seat and stirrups with felt, painted the tooling (but did a good job--stayed in the lines!) and added the rhinestones. Hmmmm. Well, if there's a market....
ReplyDeleteWhen I read "Skippers saddle", at first I thought of the Skipper from Gilligans Island.
ReplyDeleteIt might take more than a bottle of rum and a few sailors to get that on a whale, but I think Captain Ahab might be quite fancy riding that over the ocean blue.
I just noticed the center of the girth is blue also. Who is going to see it or care? Unless your horse is rearing up, then I doubt you would want someone commenting-
ReplyDelete"Oh look, the center of the girth matches." as your horse goes over backwards.
I think it's cute. Not for serious comp but for barrel racing or trail riding I think it would be fun and for some little girl with her first pony it would be the most adorable thing I would ever see..LOL
