The Blahs

Wow, this is just a very "blah" saddle isn't it? The grayish leather in no way complements the garish purple accents. It comes with a matching and equally "blah" bridle and breastcollar. The little purple "corner plate" really offends me for some reason.

  2. I could see the Lemony Snickets kids riding on it.

  3. It "could" have been a nice saddle with a decent color combo!

  4. I actually kind of like it. Just make the top of the fenders a little more substantial, tone down the purple a shade or two and use the regular D rings for the rigging- it wouldn't be so bad.

Not nearly as bad as some, but not exactly everyones taste either. You could sure pick it out of a pile though, couldn't ya?

  5. jennybean you cracked me up!
I'm with CNJ on the adjustments: I confess I'm oddly drawn to it. Kinda. Sorta. I'd like it better if the only purple was on the seat. I can totally see it on a dapple gray arabian, or white horse. Dislike the bridle. Looks like purple reflective tape was stuck on.
Picturing it on a chestnut is making me ill...

  6. I can't think of any color horse this could be put this on except a brilliant white one. Else it would just be icky.

  7. If it were in a different color i'd like it. As it is, it makes me a bit sleepy when I look at it. I actually like the corner plate idea if the color was a redish brown.

Just noticed that the inside of the stirrups don't match.

  8. Eh... It doesn't actually offend the eye. Kind of camo for a roan? I don't know much about western but that horn seems rather small. Is that for barrel racing? When I was a kid, my mother painted my bedroom while I was away on vacation. At the time I thought my favorite color was lavender. (Now I like black and purple.) My mother gamely tried to paint the walls lavendar and it came out the same color as that seat. That room is still the same color 35 years later!

  9. I've never liked the felt-lined stirrups. To me, it just screams "keep away" and it just looks cheap. It would collect every bit of dirt, dust, and mud. And the stirrup fenders are wavy (couldn't think of a better word), almost like it has a wrinkle in it.

But I absolutely love that saddle stand. lol

  10. I'm still trying to figure out what color horse it would look good one. Not coming up with anything. It really shouldn't be this tough...
