Model Tacky Tack

This is a beautifully made set by Erin Corbett of Ever After Stables She made this set and titled it "Ode to Tacky Tack"! She incorporated everything Tacky that we all love to loathe! It sports hair on cowhide, pink fringe, sparklies, funky bit, and a pink leather seat! This lady is incredibly talented and makes lovely Western show sets for model horses. Just check them out on her site! I am honored to have had someone make something like this using my blog for inspiration. If I still showed model horse performance I would love to have this! Heck, I would love to have it just because!

Look at the details folks! She even has little stitch marks on the bridle straps.

  3. This tack is beautifully made, unlike some of the full size tacky tack we have seen.
    The model horse is wonderful.
The pink fringe is quite the eyecatcher.

  4. She even remembered to make sure the saddle had a few different colors of leather too! Bonus points for that.

  6. Love it! Belt buckle on the headstall, pistol bit, barbi pink and fringe. But no zebra? Ah, there's cowhide. Thanks for posting!

  7. Oh, but why did she have to embarrass such a lovely Appaloosa??? :-) The tack set is truly atrocious and quite the tribute to Tacky Tack of the Day!

  8. Thanks for all the kind words about my work, everybody! I had a great time making this if you can't tell. It now lives with a collector and good friend of mine in Germany.

I have gotten a request for a similar set in lime green, so I don't think my days of Tacky are over!

  9. I just adore Erin's innovation in hobby tack here!!! I don't know how the model's painter (Carol Huddleston) felt about the color contrasts with her phenomenal spottage it but I sure was honored to learn that Erin made this tack to fit my sculpture... I'm just so tickled to have something even worth modeling the featured tacky tack of the day- woohoo!!! Carry on - sorry to interrupt with my silly happy dance! ;)

Zebra pad Erin...do it, do it! add more flair! ;)

  10. The ruffled looking saddle pad is killer, in addition to what everyone else said. What an honor!

I also think you have a winner, and maybe Tacky Tack of The Day could be a retail outlet for this spectacular ode to the overdone. I don't know what model horse making protocol is, if Erin & Carol would make more than one, but it would be a lovely feature on TTOTD!
