Scary EVERY COLOR Saddle of the Week

Um, well...it's...different. Yeah, different. Looks like the bastard child of a parade saddle and a disco ball. Why, oh why would you DO this?

They Call Me Mellow Yellow

Wow, niiiiice. Screaming yellow and black, cheaply made synthetic, and absolutely HIDEOUS. What a winning color combination.

The Silly Red Filly is now safely installed in her new home. I went Saturday to Sue's Tack in Benton, AR (if you are ever in the area this place must be SEEN to be believed) and bought all new grooming stuff, a new saddle blanket and a set of sport boots for her. I also got her a little ear net, which I haven't shown to her yet. Ya'll are all going to be disappointed in me now, it is all purple! I have been searching for a "color" for her and settled on plum, as when she sheds out to her summer coat she is a plum tinged liver chestnut. I had to settle on royal purple because I can't FIND the plum color I want, which sucks, because the plum looks GREAT, the royal is very, well, purple. LOL

I do however vow, on pain of bedazzlement, to NEVER put anything with rhinestones, hair on cowhide, fringe, angora goat hair, ostrich, or multiple pounds of glitter on her. Or to go beyond just a SOLID purple saddle pad and sport boots (believe me if they had a set of 4 in black I would have done that).

Seeing Red

Sorry for the no-post yesterday, my computer decided it hated Blogger and refused to open the site. Fine today, who knows. Anyway, today I have a saddle that was sent to me by a reader who found it on eBay.uk. It is a RED leather "jamping" saddle. I assume they mean jumping, but maybe "jamping" is a new sport requiring a hideous red saddle to compete in. At any rate, this looks like one of those high quality, made in India specials.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend, my horse is being moved up here today, so I am excited!

Scary Pink Accessories of the Week

Got some special shiny accessories to go with that scary pink saddle? No? Well, here ya go! A nice metallic pink breastcollar and spur straps, and the breastcollar has FRINGE too! Wow! Both pieces are also accented with silver, rhinestone encrusted conchos. Fabulous!

Too Much for Me

Wow, you guys have been working overtime to find stuff for this blog! My inbox was chock full of Tacky this morning.

Here we have something in leopard print (as you all know, my tacky little weakness) that is too much even for ME.
Wow, the entire skirt is hair on leopard print cowhide, as well as the swells, and STIRRUPS. Holy cow, that thing is hideous!

Attack of the Aqua Fringe

Get your sunglasses on folks, this one hurts the eyes.
Metallic, aqua fringe with big rhinestone conchos. Awesome. Awesomely ugly, that is.

Scary Pink BRIDLE of the Week

Pink, hair-on cowhide, zebra print, and rhinestones. Could it BE scarier? Yuck.

Leaving for Gulf Wars today at noon. I may or may not be taking the lappie, but I will try to post if I do.

Easing into the week...

In order to make a stealthy entrance into the week, we have a camo saddle to use. So Monday doesn't get us. But, just in case, it has some blaze orange to make sure Sunday or Tuesday don't mistake us for someone else.

Lime Green Leopard

Oh my, what, um, interesting spots you have. Hair-on cowhide dyed LIME GREEN with leopard print, and big 'ol teal rhinestones, which, by the way, do not match the green at all. Awesome, really.

Hay! Neighbor

I want all of you to go have a look at Hay! Neighbor a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to helping out horse owners in Arkansas and Missouri. It was founded by the director of the Veterinary Diagnostic Lab where I work. It is intended to help horse owners that may have fallen on hard times, to educate new owners about proper care and living conditions for horses, and to assist with needs like hay, feed, healthcare, and hoof care. This is a huge opportunity for us to help out. We can contrubute our knowledge and our money, not to just help re-home these horses, but to help as many of them as we can STAY home, with the people love them but may be having trouble caring for them. Go to the website, you can become a member for $10 a year, with the money going towards education and assistance. You can also donate your services if you are in the area. They need help with hay transportation, storage, horse trainers, foster homes, people to feed horses, and horse care instructors.

Thrift store Tack

A reader sent this to me, apparently it was found in a local thrift store. I can see why. Sparkly painted on horseheads and yellow accents. Awesome. Though the Aussie saddle it is partially obscuring with its hideousness might be worth a look.

TackyTack still has the plague, or at least the residual effects of the plague. Sorry for my absence, it is hard to snark when you can't get enough oxygen to your brain for it to function properly.

Scary Pink Saddle of the Week

WARNING Pink Overload! This is a synthetic pink English saddle a reader sent to me. It IS for a pony, so it gets a little leeway there, but dang it is ugly. There is such thing as overdoing it folks.

Sorry for the no-posts, I have the plague.

Saddle Assembly Fail

Um, I see a problem here (besides the obvious craptacular quality), does anyone else? This thing looks like it would fall apart on you if you looked at it wrong, much less actually roped a cow off of it. Really high quality equipment here.
