Scary Pink Saddle of the Week

This one needs little commentary, it speaks volumes on its own.
The pink saddle phenomenon is going international, beware.

  1. What the HELL? It looks like a bare tree with a little "cushion" tied on it. It almost looks like it could be someone's school project. That is probably the sorriest excuse for a saddle I've seen in a long, long time.

  2. PRS,it's a charro saddle, but that just makes the hideousness worse.

  3. Yikes. The only Charro Saddle I've ever seen in person had a very large mexican man sitting in it so I didn't get the full effect. I googled them and looked at a variety of them. They are definitely not something I would ever want but you're right...it just makes this pink monstrosity even worse.

  4. It looks like a hideous caveman saddle. It also looks like it was made for a barbie horse - eww!

  5. Oh my. When I first saw the thumbnail I actually thought this was some cake in the shape of a crappy saddle. This is the worst i've seen for a while.

  6. I like pink tack but this just disturbs me.

  7. It's a charro saddle and they are quite interesting minus the pink of course.

  8. Shut up!!! That is NOT a real saddle, that's a Barbi saddle! The "tree" part looks like flimsy plastic... you are SO making this up!

  9. It does very much resemble a blown up toy but something tells me barbie does not own a charro saddle for her horse...

  10. Clearly Amy has never seen a Charro saddle before.

Pepto Pink charro saddle. That's wrong on so many levels.

  11. While the Charro saddles are not exactly huge in the "eye appeal" category to some, they are supposedly really comfortable to ride in. Supposedly. From what I have been told.

I just can't help but think the stirrup 'leathers' would do anything more than pinch and rub the crap out of your leg! That alone turns me off on them. Otherwise I have seen some relatively nice, intracately tooled and well made Charro saddles.

But would I ever own one? Hell NO! Especially not in pink.

  12. I have seen some very nice and very attractive Charro saddles that sell for thousands of dollars.

However I am lost for words on this one. The first thing I thought too was those stirrup leathers look uncomfortable at best and a possible safety hazard.

  13. Not sure what to say about this except ... OMG is that for real? ... and possibly that hideous has hit new heights with this one (blah).

    Wrong for so many reasons.

I'm not sure I know any five-year-olds who'd fit in it!

  15. Charro saddles are very popular in So. CA due to many hispanics who ride, and also participate in the charreads, or Mexican rodeos. Often a family activity, with all members of the family riding, including the kids, I'd suspect this was designed with the little girl in the family. Just google Charro Saddle and you will see many designs. Some or covered in silver and worth thousands of dollars. The Martinez family rides each year in the Rose Parade in traditional attire.

  16. Wow... that one looks scary even if you can get past the pink.

  17. I've always thought the charro saddles looked akward with the big horns in front. I'm short and I think I would fight with getting my hand down in front of the horn all the time.

Please tell me this was made by Fisher Price. It just looks plastic-y instead of being carved out of wood like I'm used to seeing.
