Arkansas Gaited Horse Show Association

I would love for other aside (or heck even astride) riders to go speak their mind and to point out the fact that if they are using TWHBEA rules they should allow side saddle riders.

Per TWHBEA rules, side saddles ARE ALLOWED in all flat shod classes.

According to Sue at Side Saddle Heaven...

TWHBEA has included/accepted/publicized/appreciated sidesaddle in flat-shod classes since the Versatility Program was begun in the late 1970's/early 1980's.

  1. I am less disturbed by their discrimination against sidesaddles than I am by their appalling rudeness to you!!!

  2. Agree with the above! Mind boggling that that would treat anyone that way!

  3. I think this calls for reenactment as an xtranormal movie!!

  4. I sure hope you are able to go to someone above this person's head. Let the "parent" organization see how their representatives are speaking to people.

  5. Unfortunately, I don't think there IS a parent organization. Luckily enough, there is a different (but farther away) group that has welcomed me with open arms. I can keep their other aside rider company.

  6. This deserves to go on the Fugly blog! You should send all the info to Kathy.

Unfortunately I don't think there's much you can do to change their thinking, but at least you could put others off from joining or attending their shows. Then in time, they might figure out the error of their ways.

  7. Yeah, I second Four Corners Tack's idea about sending this all to Fugly. It's people like Kenny that give the horse world a bad name and puts people off going to shows.

  8. GOOD JOB getting things going and on your newest post of succeeding! I've been fighitng my local horse club for YEARS for being an open breed horse show but only placing quarter horses. I'm basically no longer allowed in the club... but whatever. I won't ever cull my grade horses for a ribbon.
