Gak! It's the Purple People Eater!!

Gosh, you think it could BE more purple? Also it doesn't help that the bridle and breastcollar are a completely different SHADE of purple than the saddle. I am not sure what the little black things on the skirt and fender are, but the yellow and red do not compliment the overall package in any way. Nasty.

  1. I like the shade of purple of the breast collar and bridle, but the saddle is a bluish shad of purple and just isn't appealing. The two stars and the squiggle on the seat add to the overall BLECH theme. The person who thought that yellow and red would look good on this saddle must have been color blind.

  2. Well.....ya, it's purple.....and I'd use it if it fit my horse. But I'd pair it with a black breast collar/bridle.

I have a purple-patterned Abetta saddle.....Looked wicked on my grey gelding.....LOL....and I can sit in it all day without getting sore. Very comfy. First thing I did, though, was rip off the icky plastic stirrups and replace them with metal-bound wood.

My taste may be questionable, but I am very picky about my stirrups.....

  3. I have this exact set. It is so comfortable but I don't like the breast collar. It does not fit well and is not the same shade as the saddle. I am with you Diane I don't like the stirrups and I am in the process of replacing them.

  5. Not my taste. Good thing it has comfort going for it. The stitched stars look suspiciously like landing aids for your jeans pockets?

I'm thinking Barney would have some love for this saddle.

  7. I think the red & gold are a logo?

I *hate* this set... but I can totally see how someone might love it!

    Esp. if it were comfy.

  8. I love purple--but not that bluish parody of purple. And I'm not at all sure I would want my entire saddle in purple.

  9. oh no. purple. my weakness. I actually like the whole thing but the logo colours don't go and the breatcollar would look better the same shade. The only thing that makes it look icky is the heart shapes on the bridle. I HATE <3!

  10. I LOVE PURPLE. That being said, I don't like the shade of the saddle. I like the shade of the bridle package, though. And the saddle just looks like cheap cordura and plastic--not something that should be used on any day other than parade day.

  11. The barn I go to has this saddle, though we got it from the 4-h tack sale I think and didn't get the headstall and breast collar. I think that pic shows it more blue, ours has the same red and gold logo on it, and looks more purple.

My opinion of it? Well, it's a children's size, 13" seat I think, might be 14" I haven't measured it, so it doesn't fit me. But, the stirrups aren't sized right either. They are way to long for any kid who fits the seat. We tied a knot in and double wrap the 'stirrup leather' before buckling it and it still barely fits most kids. I hate plastic stirrups, they have no traction for sandy/muddy or smooth-soled boots. Also, the saddle doesn't fit any horse or pony I've tried it on. It usually flips up in the back as well, like as if the cinch rigging is to far forward.

I love purple, but that's about it's only good point to me. =)

  12. I'm still just laughing at the Parelli picture in an earlier post.

  13. I love the color of the saddle. It would be a great saddle pad. But somehow, I just don't find it appealing on a saddle.
