TTOTD Has a new home...

Found a NICE apartment in a NICE area only 2 miles from work! No more driving nearly 40 miles round trip! It has an indoor and outdoor pool (that I don't have to maintain), a 24 hour fitness center, expansive grounds, a stocked pond, tennis courts, covered parking and my apartment has a fireplace and lots of storage and a patio! I will also be fairly close to several boarding facilities if I can swing it for my mare (she is currently on my parent's farm). They allow pets, so I can bring my service dog and 2 cats too. The catch is, I have to wait till Dec. 19 to move as they are currently renovating my apartment so I will have new everything.

Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled Tackiness...
EEEK! Big scary metallic fringies!!

  1. You GO Girl!! Glad that Home has been located. Fingers crossed that you can bring your mare closer to you too.

Now as to that tack..hehehe... C'mon now, Christmas is coming. Can't you just see some fake Ivy wound through there, with some misletoe, to march in a Christmas parade?? ;)

  2. They use flashy stuff like this on drill teams and when you have a whole team wearing it, it really does look good (believe it or not)!! Personally, I'm into "classic" looking tack.

My sister sent this to me and I thought it was good, so here's to all us strong women:

    ONE FLAW IN WOMEN
Women have strengths that amaze men.....
They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy
and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in..
    They stand up to injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer
when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
    They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel
and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about
    a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member,
yet they are strong when they
think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss
    can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you
to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what
    makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
    They have compassion and ideas.
They give moral support to their
    family and friends.
Women have vital things to say
    and everything to give.
HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,
IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH!

  3. Sounds like you have made a good move. As for this headstall and breastcollar? Nothing good about it. Yech.

  4. drillrider... I love that poem!
TTOTD I went through the same back in July. It will get better, there will be times when you think it can't, but it will. Good luck and congrats on new place.

TACK: I agree with the christmas parade idea! but you know somebody uses this to go trailriding

  5. I would actually use that tack minus the fringe crap. It's sparkle but not THAT overboard (and I LOVE red). I can just picture that getting sweaty and stuck to each other.

And great for you that you're able to start on the road back to a "normal" life...or however normal it can get lol. Sounds like you've found a winner.

  7. Sounds like a great apartment! Good thoughts for your move.

The tack....ugh. The ONLY place I can see that is on a drill team or something similar, else...yuck!

  8. Congrats on your new apartment. It sounds great.
The tack--I can see it for a drill team. But that fringe would be awful to keep clean.

  9. Apartment sounds good, glad to hear you're getting along a bit!

As for the tack... would look great in a team situation. Clean wouldn't be an issue, a little Murphy's in water and wipe it down, dab of effax or oil on the back- that's how we maintain draft horse sized acreages of patent show harness.

  10. Sounds like things are working out for you. Hope you can board your horse nearby, too. You have mentioned a service dog. May I be nosy and ask why you need one?

  11. Fantastic on the apartment! Way to keep moving. Hard to do in that circumstance. And new everything! Wonderful. :)

The tack. Drill team, parade, rodeo show, great. Other than that, it looks straight out of a Fredrick's of Hollywood catalogue for mares?

  12. Tassels, sheen, bling?! What will these people think of next?!! The poor horses D:

Congrats on your home, it sounds like an absolute dream :) I hope you're happier there, I'm sure the wait is worth it.

  15. So glad to hear you're getting sorted and the new digs sound great. Well done you : )

    The tack? Blaaaah!!!

I could see it in sideshow alley but not on a horse!!!

  16. Hooray for new place and new convenience!!!!!!! :D

It's funny, I used to avoid apartment complexes like the plague, but I see more and more with PETS WELCOME signs out front.

As the proud owner of two houses and reluctant landlady of one of them, I'm cool with pets - so long as the owners are responsible. We're super lucky to have awesome tenants with awesome well-behaved dogs!!

  17. I wish my neighbors were more like your tenants.

Actually, no, that's not fair. MOST people control their dogs. But there's this woman who has this awful, untrained chihuahua that likes to make this horrible bark-whine-screaming noise. She never tells it to shut up...she doesn't even *try*.
