A Prickly Situation

Many thanks to the reader that sent me this. This is quite possibly one of the worst ideas I have ever seen. This person has had SPIKES added to this saddle and bridle. Now, I can just see trying to get on and off with that cantle full of spikes in my way. Ouch. And what happens if you have a bit of a rodeo? Landing on those would HURT. Yay, puncture wounds in the bum. Also, check out the bridle, what if your horse is a head rubber? He would impale you every time he wanted to be affectionate. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

  1. Egads! that looks like something a crazy barrel racer would do.

I know, I am one and know several who would love this!

  4. Ugh, who thought that would be a good idea? Really?

That saddle looks like it's top quality too...not.

  5. meant to add... at least this is something the human is more likely to be injured by. That's a switch.

  6. Ok, is it bad that all I can think about is those movies where the rider leapfrogs from behind the horse into the saddle... and missing short... with this saddle... sorry.
Also, is the whole thing plush? That just takes it to a whole other level.

  7. This has got to be the ugliest saddle (with or without the spikes) I have ever seen! WTF!?!?!?!

  8. I have had some pretty spectacular bruises from some impromptu rodeos I unwillingly participated in and I don't think I would want to add puncture wounds and lacerations to the mix. Yikes!

  9. Y'know, on closer inspection it looks like a Bob Marshall treeless saddle or a BM knock off.

  10. Imagine explaining this one to the doctors in the ER.

"So...HOW'D you get all of the poke holes in your butt again?"

  11. There is not one thing I can think of to make this sound anywhere near a good idea.

    Not even one.

  13. "well no riding double in that saddle......."

Maybe that's the point! LMAO The owner was fed up of friend leaping on! lol Then thought "Oh crap, better make the bridle match!"

  14. Hey, CnJ, I can actually think of one good reason... Can't you think of a few people you wish would use this - especially after you put a burr under it?

    Evilly, Ruthie

  15. HAHA! I could think of few horsepeople I'd want to a burr under this saddle while they were riding. How about Cleve Wells for starters!

  16. I'd want to "put" a burr under......OOPS!

  17. *looks at that bridle*

*thinks about the Paint she's riding*

(That would be the big softie who has to check every inch of his rider for treats and try to give neck hugs).

  18. A saddle for a horse lovin' biker?
Or a horse lovin' S&M person?

  19. WTF !!!!!!!

What a totally stupid thing to do!!

Apart from being profoundly unattractive I can't imagine anything anymore more dangerous.

Clearly created/requested by a bottom of the gene pool dweller.

  20. Woah! I'm a "goth" as they call it, and I would never think of putting something so medieval torturechamber on my horse. Sure I enjoy a spiked collar to wear and studded belts, but all I can think of is if my horse went a little wild or spooked badly how much it would hurt having all of those holes in me. It would be like having lots of canine bites all over. Ouch!

  21. Ruthie, as much as I would like to consider the burr option, the horse doesn't deserve it. Sorry, but none of them do.

Now if they are using the saddle on each other in a sexual setting, (no horses involved) they might enjoy the burr and add a few more in some questionable places...

Eeeewwwwwww! Can we just NOT go there?

  22. The more I look at this picture, the more I think of those barrel girls that come hauling home kicking and screaming. You know the ones. The picture that is taken when their butt is 2 feet above the saddle...

  23. Okay, that IS tacky.
    Dangerous, dumb, tacky.

Great motivation for the rider, though;)

  24. WOW - Um... Shishkabob anyone?

  25. This brings a whole new meaning to iron horse. I don't have a problem with it, really. Its ugly, but I would get a big giggle watching anyone using this on an "interesting" horse.
