Scary Pink Saddle of the Week

There really is no end to it is there? The constant parade of horrible, Pepto colored, Barbie accessory looking, and nausea inducing saddles seems to be unending. While I admit, this one seems to be well made, that only goes so far toward redeeming this affront to all things tasteful in the horse world. It honestly looks like it has the pink stuff splashed on it. If I came towards any of my girls with this, I think they might just kill me and have done with it. Not only that, it would SO clash with The Gift Horse and the Silly Red Filly's coat color (dark red chestnut). It MIGHT look tolerable on the Large Black Filly, but again, death and destruction if I tried. WHY must we make stuff like this? It would be a nice saddle but for the color choice.

  1. I could almost handle it if it was just pink on the seat and around the skirt corners (well, if it weren't fake ostrich), since the leatherwork is nice by itself, but why did they have to include it among the tooling?

  2. It IS kinda pretty, except for the pink part.

  3. If I had to get a pink saddle *and I don't* this would be the one I'd get. I still don't like it though.

  4. Without all the "over the top" pink in the tooling, it would be okay. I'd keep the tooling on the back of the seat and the knife scabbard, but lose ALL the rest. Then it would be bearable....Disclaimer: I still hate pink!

  5. This is the least repugnant of the many pink saddles we have seen over the months. Still I wouldn't touch it.

  6. I just gotta say, If it were under a Christmas tree, it wouldn't need any wrapping. Plenty of bright color there already. Enough in fact, to overpower the lights on the tree.

Not my style in any way shape or form, but not nearly as hideous as some you have posted.

  7. The "color in the tooling" has been a fad for a while now - there was a saddle in the 2007 schneiders catalog that had a red seat and red among the tooling. I kinda like it... Maybe not with pink though!

  8. I agree with "just the seat and around the skirt corners." I'd even go so far as seat and tooling without the skirt corners, swells and pommel. But the paler pink is blechy, and as is this is just too much pink overall. I wouldn't choose pink, but I'd laugh a lot less at someone if this were toned down a bit...

  9. They also have a saddle like this that is bright blue underneath.

I hate the 'color underlay' fad...

  10. This saddle is a double J saddle, which are very expensive and well made. A lot of you talk bad about this saddle, but im sure none of your saddles are this comfortable.

    AMAZING saddle.

  11. I would not buy that, period, cannot think of anyone who would......

You'd be wrong if you chose to bet on that. I ride in a Sensation Ride treeless saddle made by Nickers Saddlry that is the most comfortable saddle EVER! However, I have no argument with the quality of the saddle....just the color, such a nice saddle doesn't deserve to be painted pink.

  13. That's the most "tasteful" pink saddle you have posted. Still, a shame to spoil such a nice saddle with pink. I always visualise these at an Arabian show in Arizona. The rider in matching outfit and pink hat of course. :-)
